VCU band covered Miley Cyrus’ ‘Wrecking Ball’ and debuted ‘Space Kitten’

We’ve seen Miley Cyrus’ song “Wrecking Ball” at a college basketball game before. At a North Carolina Tarheels game a fan yelled lyrics from the song to distract a player shooting free throws.

Now the VCU Rams band played the song during a game against George Mason in the Stuart Siegel Center. Towards the end of the song they even debuted the Space Kitten.” It seems to have had a positive effect on the George Mason free throw shooters. They missed 7 of their 16 free throws. This might become a thing, or tradition at VCU.

I look forward to the ESPN special in the March Madness tournament about this song giving them an edge this season.
