While the Indianapolis Colts have a knack for coming back when being down big, like last week against the Kansas City Chiefs, it’s a different animal when you’re trying to come back against Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots.
Unfortunately, that’s the position they find themselves in early in the first quarter.
After an Andrew Luck interception that was returned all the way to the two-yard line, the Patriots took a quick 7-0 lead after a LeGarrette Blount TD run.
After the Colts punted on their next possession, Blount was at it again.
Tom Brady and the offense marched 74 yards down the field in 10 plays, a march which was capped off by this two-yard touchdown run from Blount, his second of the opening quarter.
Early on, the Patriots seemed to have the upper hand, but quickly after this play, Andrew Luck and the Colts struck right back with a TD pass from Luck to cut the deficit.
Still, it was huge for the Pats to jump out this early.
