On Saturday afternoon, the woes continued for the Duke Blue Devils as they suffered one of their worst upsets in a long time on the road as they were upended by the Clemson Tigers, 72-59.

The loss marks to first time since 2007 that head coach Mike Krzyzewski and his squad have opened up the season 1-2 in conference play in the Atlantic Coast Conference, which might be a reason for folks in Durham to being worrying just a little bit.

This was a Clemson team that was coming off one of the worst performances of the season, by anyone, against the Florida State Seminoles, scoring a mediocre 41 points.

Saturday, against the mighty 16th-ranked Blue Devils, they put up 72, and this is in no way one of the better offensive groups in the country.

After the game, Coach K made one of the more obvious statements following the loss, but it’s a statement that carries just a little more weight coming from his mouth.

"“We’re not some powerhouse,” Krzyzewski said. “We need to get a lot better."

They’ve already lost to Notre Dame in the ACC opener, and with Louisville now in the conference as well, that process of “getting better” had better be a speedy process, or there’s no telling how this season could turn out.
