Indoor rain delay interrupts Rockets-Wizards game (Video)

It may be the middle of winter and most of the country is in a deep freeze, but that hasn’t stopped the much hated rain delay from rearing its unwanted head around sports. You’d think that a basketball game indoors would be exempt from a rain delay but in Washington, anything is possible.

Saturday’s game between the Houston Rockets and Washington Wizards was delayed after the roof started leaking and an indoor rain delay happened in the middle of January.

The delay took some time to fix, as the roof was leaking due to a maintenance issue, but it opened up the Wizards to a slew of jokes about how their stadium isn’t the only thing broken in Washington or the stadium is as leaky as the team’s defense seems to be.

Still, you don’t often see an indoor rain delay but it may end up being one of the most exciting moments of the Wizards season.
