It appears Alex Rodriguez is a bad rash the New York Yankees simply can’t rid themselves of.
After an arbitrator ruled that A-Rod will be suspended for the entire 2014 season on Saturday, Rodriguez says he plans to take the issue to court and will be attending the New York Yankees spring training:
Source tells ESPN NY: A-Rod plans on attending spring training. We’ll see if the Yankees let him.
With Rodriguez now officially suspended, the Yankees have every right to tell A-Rod to kick rocks. Of course, his suspension seemingly only covers the regular season and the postseason so it doesn’t appear as if Rodriguez would be breaking any rules by attending and/or participating in spring training.
Regardless, it’s hard to envision the Yankees allowing such. Even the Yankees don’t want to deal with the media circus that Rodriguez brings with himself.
Knowing A-Rod, I’m sure we’ll have some silly confrontation with security when he attempts to head into the locker room at the Yankees Florida facility on the first day position players report.
