Golden Globes 2014: Amy Poehler Wins the Award for Best Actress in a TV Series, Musical or Comedy

Game of Thrones actress Emilia Clarke and NCIS: Los Angeles actor Chris O’Donnell  just announced the award for Best Actress in a TV Series, Musical or Comedy. And the award goes to…Amy Poehler for Parks and Recreation.

This is the Saturday Night Live alum’s third straight nomination for her portrayal of Leslie Knope in Parks and Recreation. Tonight is her very first win for the role.

Edie Falco – Nurse Jackie

Julia Louis-Dreyfus – Veep

Amy Poehler – Parks and Recreation

 

Tonight, all the best and brightest in film and television descend upon the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hill, California for the 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards. The show, hosted by comediennes and Saturday Night Live alums Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, is arguably one of the biggest parties of the year.

The Golden Globes have always been known as a precursor to the Oscars, so don’t be surprised if you see some of these same names walk away with statues when the Oscars come on March 2, 2014.
