On Sunday, the Louisville Cardinals and new head coach Bobby Petrino got a little bit of help on the coaching staff from the Southeastern Conference as they were reportedly able to attract the services of Georgia Bulldogs defensive coordinator, Todd Grantham.

After reportedly being turned down by multiple assistants who didn’t want to work with Petrino, Grantham has accepted the position.

Also, according to Schad, the new gig in the ACC is a guaranteed five-year deal for Grantham that will pay the coach $1million per season.

Grantham has been the defensive coordinator in Athens since the 2010 season when he came over from the NFL and the Dallas Cowboys.

This past season, however, he was the target of a lot of scrutiny from the Georgia faithful for a poor defensive performance throughout the season.

In 2013, Grantham’s defense ranked 32nd in total defense in the nation, allowing just a little over 357 yards per game.
