There appears to be quite the rift in the Los Angeles Clippers front office as the team seemingly can’t decide upon their desire (or lack of) to sign free agent center, Andrew Bynum.
It’s expected that Bynum is to pick his new team in the very near future and the Clippers were said to be near the top of his desired destinations.
The Clippers meanwhile have seemingly went back and forth on the idea of bringing in Bynum with rumors on Saturday suggesting Los Angeles had decided they’d attempt to sign the oft-injured center. However, come Sunday, ESPN’s Marc Stein says the Clippers have yet again decided Bynum isn’t for them as they’re ‘leaning away’ from pursuing the former high school star:
Andrew Bynum latest: Hear Clips leaning away from idea of signing Bynum for now AND that Indy is among teams to express exploratory interest
Indianapolis’ interest was documented earlier today, but it doesn’t appear the Clippers will be making space for Bynum moving forward.
Doing so would require Los Angeles to clear a roster spot as well, something they may not be willing to do.
