The Detroit Red Wings were able to edge the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday night, but it wasn’t all positive from their 3-1 win. As it turns out, the team will be without netminder Jimmy Howard today when they take on the Anaheim Ducks.

During last night’s game, Howard suffered a hip injury that has forced him out of tonight’s game, according to MLive.com’s Ansar Khan.

Howard’s latest setback comes just five games after he returned from a knee injury.

It will be interesting to see whether or not Howard will miss an extended amount of time, because if he does his spot on the Team USA roster for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia could be in jeopardy.

If Howard is unable to go, Ben Bishop of the Tampa Bay Lightning will take his spot.
