If there’s one thing Carmelo Anthony certainly is — besides being one of the best shooters in the NBA — it’s polarizing. Few players have the power to get random people to hate them the way Carmelo seems to, but maybe that comes with the territory of playing in New York.
One reason some people may be harsh on Melo is his antics that could be viewed as less than respectable at times. Case in point was his bump and grind with Phoenix Suns forward P.J. Tucker.
Now, there’s two sides to this, as Melo was just trying to back down and attempt a shot, but he did bump Tucker. On the flip side, Tucker is bumped but takes a pretty big dive, all things considered. He may very well have been bumped hard enough to warrant falling down, but the classic “I’m falling off a ledge” arm move he subtly makes is a bit much.
