Christian Laettner jersey sells for $119,500 at auction

“Going once…going twice…SOLD to the guy with the weird obsession for sweat-soaked memorabilia!”

The jersey worn by Christian Laettner when he hit his famous shot to advance the Duke Blue Devils past the Kentucky Wildcats in the 1992 NCAA tournament was just sold at auction for a whopping $119,500. The hefty price tag makes the Laettner jersey the second most expensive game-worn basketball jersey ever to be auctioned off, trailing only a Julius Erving Virginia Squires jersey that sold for $190,414 back in 2011.

If for some reason you don’t know which shot the jersey was worn during, well, you are probably a Millennial and don’t know about other basic things like hard work and not being obnoxious. Or, maybe, you bonked your head at one point and had the memory dislodged from your brain. Either way, it’s a good excuse to watch the footage from the play and bask in Kentucky’s delicious tears.

They identity of the buyer is currently unknown.
