This past weekend, the Florida Gators just got by a scare from the Arkansas Razorbacks on the road, 84-82, in overtime to push their record to 13-2 on the year. What may have been even more remarkable was the fact that the Gators fought through without their leading scorer, senior Casey Prather, who was out while nursing a bruised right knee.
On Monday, head coach Billy Donovan noted that while Prather is progressing in his rehab, he still won’t be ready to go on Tuesday night against the Georgia Bulldogs, according to College Basketball Talk.
Billy Donovan told reporters on Monday morning that Prather will miss his second straight game with a bone bruise in his right knee. Florida plays Georgia on Tuesday. Prather, who averages a team-high 17.0 points this season, missed Saturday’s win at Arkansas, but Donovan did say that Prather was progressing.
All things considered, the Gators have enough on this team–as they showed against Arkansas–to get past an 8-6 Georgia team without Prather on the floor.
Donovan didn’t provide any further timetable for a possible return.
