While one quarterback out of Northern Illinois, Jordan Lynch, is preparing for the 2014 NFL Draft, the Huskies signal-caller that is currently in the league is ready to prepare for upcoming OTAs and training camp after getting another shot at making a roster.

On Monday night, the Indianapolis Colts announced that they have signed quarterback Chandler Harnish to a reserve/future contract.

The team also signed offensive guard Zach Allen, center Thomas Austin, linebacker Alan Baxter, defensive back Marcus Burley and tight end Martell Webb to reserve/future deals.

While Harnish has never appeared in a regular game, he spent the last two seasons on the Indianapolis Colts practice squad after being selected as “Mr. Irrelevant” in the 2012 NFL Draft. Harnish will once again be a likely candidate to make the practice squad if he fails to make the active roster for a third season, but he will have his sights set much higher in 2014.
