As he continues to deal with plantar fasciitis in his right foot, Michigan State Spartans star Adreian Payne sat out Saturday’s overtime win over the Minnesota Golden Gophers.

After not being expected to play in the win over Ohio State last week, Payne dropped in 18 points in that overtime victory, but was ruled out for this past Saturday by head coach Tom Izzo.

On Monday, Izzo ruled Payne out once again, this time for however long he so chooses, apparently.

Izzo went on to basically say that Payne’s health is his responsibility.

"“I’ve got to look at the big picture for him, and the big picture for us,” Izzo said on Monday. “I do not see this lingering all year. Only if I let it – and I’m not gonna let it.”"

Michigan State has road games in front of them this week, traveling to both Northwestern and Illinois to try and improve their 15-1 record even further, just without one of their top stars.
