Free agent big man Andrew Bynum appears to be the XBox One of the NBA. At first, everybody rushed to see what the hoopla was all about – but when it actually came to buying the goods, everybody passed.
Bynum, after being released by the Chicago Bulls seemed destined to have multiple teams offering him a contract but in recent days, teams originally rumored to be interested in Bynum have shied away – including the Portland Trail Blazers who have not contacted Bynum’s agent and have no plans to do so:
CSNNW.com was informed by a well-placed league source that Portland is not one of the reported eight teams interested in Bynum. Another source backed it up saying, “Portland has not inquired” about the services of the 7-foot free agent Bynum.
In addition to Portland, it’s also been rumored that the Los Angeles Clippers and Miami Heat – two teams who figured to have some of the most heavy interest – are leaning towards not signing the oft-injured center.
Bynum will eventually land someplace, though it may not be where most anticipated.
