Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo and FIFA president Sepp Blatter have made peace

FIFA President Sepp Blatter cause some outrage amongst Real Madrid fans and superstar Cristiano Ronaldo when during an event at the Oxford Union who was better: Ronaldo or Lionel Messi. Blatter said he preferred Messi and said “one has more expenses for the hairdresser than the other.”

Ronaldo wasn’t thrilled and fired back a shot. He suggested that was why Barcelona had dominated Ballon d’Or voting.

“This video shows the respect and consideration that FIFA has for me, my club and my country. Much is explained now,” Ronaldo said. “I wish Mr.Blatter health and a long life, with the certainty that he’ll continue to witness the successes of his favorite teams and players.”

Blatter wrote a letter of apology to Ronaldo and the two talked over the phone to smooth things over. Ronaldo said ahead of the Ballon d’Or ceremony that it was no longer an issue.

“We talked over the telephone and everything was cleared,” Ronaldo said, via Sky Sports. “This is no longer an issue, neither for us, nor for football.”

Of course that is why people said FIFA extended Ballon d’Or voting, to help smooth things over between Blatter and Ronaldo. The extension would help Ronaldo get more votes following his impressive performance for Portugal in the World Cup playoff with Sweden.
