On Monday, reports began to surface that the Florida Panthers could be playing host to the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. If the report proves to be true, it would be the first time that Florida hosts the draft since 2001.
According to the Miami Herald‘s George Richards, hosting the draft was one of the requirements necessary for the Panthers to show their thanks for the new scoreboard at the BB&T Center. Part of that deal was also to host the NHL All-Star game.
When the 2015 NHL Entry Draft does finally roll around, scoring machine Conor McDavid of OHL Erie is the projected No. 1 pick.
