Joel Sherman is reporting that the Chicago White Sox have avoided arbitration with outfielder Dayan Viciedo. The Scott Boras client will earn $2.8 million for 2014, and is free agent eligible in 2018.

“The Tank,” as “Hawk” Harrelson calls him, will be going into his age-25 season. MLB Trade Rumors had the Super-Two player right at $2.8 million. As the primary left fielder for the Pale Hose, Viciedo hit .265/.304/.426 with 14 homers and 56 RBI. Barring any more moves, Dayan will figure to be the starting left fielder for Chicago in 2014.
