Arbitration: 146 officially file for arbitration

Today, January 14th, was the deadline for players to file for salary arbitration. A total of 146 players filed with their teams for arbitration and now the players and teams must come up with salary figures for each case. They will exchange figures on Friday, and have up until the date of each case to work out an agreement. If the two sides do not come to an agreement, an independent arbitrator will hear each arguments from both the player’s side and the team and decide which salary the player will be paid. Hearings can start on February 1st and go until February 21st.

Notable players that filed for arbitration include Clayton Kershaw, Max Scherzer, David Price, Neftali Feliz, Jeff Samardzija, and Chris Davis.

I will post a full list later this evening, and an article going more in depth on the arbitration process later this week.
