Former Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Jim Caldwell is the new head coach of the Detroit Lions, and he is expected to fill his staff with a number of people that he is very familiar with. It is already being reported that Caldwell is prepared to bring longtime colleague Teryl Austin on to his coaching staff as the defensive coordinator and a favorite has already emerged on the offensive side of the ball.

According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, Indianapolis Colts quarterbacks coach Clyde Christensen is the ‘favorite’ to be named as the team’s offensive coordinator.

Caldwell and Christensen worked together with the Colts from  2002-2011, with Christensen being promoted to offensive coordinator when Caldwell took over as the team’s head coach.

Now, Christensen could once again be leading Caldwell’s offense in Detroit.
