Grizzlies' Marc Gasol to play vs. Thunder on Tuesday night

The Memphis Grizzlies went through a relatively intense practice on Monday afternoon, a practice that included center Marc Gasol.

The big man had been out for a month and a half as he recovered from an MCL sprain but said his knee felt ‘great’ after the practice. That lead to speculation that Gasol could be returning in the very near future, but nobody expected it to be the following night.

However, that is the case according to Rob Fischer who says Gasol will return to the Memphis Grizzlies lineup tonight:

BREAKING- one full practice was enough. Marc Gasol (MCL Sprain) will start tonight for @memgrizz against @okcthunder 7pm

Memphis struggled without Gasol initially but has been playing better of late, winning six of ten and two straight so his return couldn’t come at a better time.

It’s not expected that Gasol will play heavy minutes understandably, so he’ll be worked back into the rotation for the next game or two before Memphis increases his floor time.
