Indianapolis Colts cornerback Vontae Davis is set to be an unrestricted free agent in the offseason, which could spell trouble for the Colts after an impressive season from Davis in the defensive backfield.
Davis will be one of the top cornerbacks available on the open market, but he is fully expected to re-sign with the team when free agency begins.
According to the Indianapolis Star, Davis is considered a “heavy favorite” to be re-signed by the Colts.
Davis joined the Colts in 2012 after general manager Ryan Grigson gave up a second-round pick during the preseason and he has proven to be a worthy investment.
On top of Davis, the Colts will have to determine what to do with running back Donald Brown, safety Antoine Bethea, placekicker Adam Vinatieri, punter Pat McAfee, guard Mike McGlynn and defensive linemen Fili Moala and Aubrayo Franklin, who are also set to become free agents.
