NBA Rumors: Celtics, Mavs interested in trade for Donatas Motiejunas

The Houston Rockets aren’t likely to trade Jeremy Lin or Omer Asik moving forward, but that doesn’t mean they won’t attempt to move Donatas Motiejunas.

The big man has expressed a desire to move on and his agent has been hammering the phone lines in recent weeks looking for a potential trade.

It was thought they may have had success with the Boston Celtics, who engaged in trade talks for the big man but the two sides were unable to come to an agreement. The Dallas Mavericks are also said to be interested in Motiejunas, though there’s been no confirmation of any potential trade scenarios as of yet.

Per Hoopshype:

Virginijus Bulotas (Donatas Motiejunas’ agent): A few weeks ago, there were talks between Rockets and Celtics, but later everything stayed the same. Also the Mavericks showed some interest in Donatas, but it is a situation that Donatas can’t control.” SportoTV

The second year center/forward is averaging just over eight minutes per game.

The Rockets asking price for Motiejunas is currently not known.
