When Dion Waiters was selected with the fourth overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers, there was a significant amount of shock around the league. It wasn’t that Waiters wasn’t gifted enough to be a top four pick, but there were questions about his maturity which lead many to suggest he’d fall a few more picks.
But the Cavaliers weren’t about to miss out on his talent.
Unfortunately, those questions about his poor attitude haven’t quit and according to Ohio.com, teammates are becoming frustrated with Waiters’ pouting and selfish ways:
When Waiters’ shot is falling, he can carry a team. When it’s not, he tends to shut down. He doesn’t defend, he gets careless with the ball… Players have quietly grumbled about Waiters’ act off and on all season, and those grumbles were growing louder Sunday night.
That’s just a small sample of the blasting that Waiters takes in the above article. Even the newest Cavaliers player, Luol Deng, had a few choice things to say.
Then again – losing by 44 points (the worst loss in the NBA this season) to the Sacramento Kings (a team with 13 wins) will frustrate anybody.
