It’s official, and no surprise: Stanford FS Ed Reynolds will enter the NFL Draft

Stanford safety Ed Reynolds has opted to declare for the NFL Draft, joining teammate David Yankey. This is an unusual move for a Stanford player as they will have underclassmen declare, they are typically redshirt juniors who have already graduated. Reynolds is a redshirt sophomore and a third year student.
Reynolds adds to a loaded underclassmen group but is among a relatively small group of safeties that have declared for the NFL Draft along with Louisville safety Calvin Pryor. Reynolds could potentially go very high in this draft, playing a position that does not have a lot of obvious star power.
The talented Cardinal safety may also be leaving due to the sheer amount of senior talent that is leaving the defense. Trent Murphy, Shayne Skov, Josh Mauro, and Ben Gardner are a handful of the players they are losing on that side of the ball and all of them are in the front seven.
