U.S. Track & Cross Country Coaches Association preseason rankings released

The first set of preseason rankings for collegiate indoor track and field were released by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Monday.

The Arkansas Razorbacks, who were victorious at the 2013 NCAA Indoor Championships and return both pole vault champion Andrew Irwin and heptathlon winner Kevin Lazas, lead the pack on the men’s side with 230.90 points. They are followed, in order, by the Florida Gators — winners of three of the last four indoor titles — the Oregon Ducks, the Wisconsin Badgers, and the Texas A&M Aggies.

The Texas Longhorns sit atop the women’s rankings with 177.09 points. They are followed by the Texas A&M Aggies, the Florida Gators, the four-time defending champion Oregon Ducks, and the Georgia Bulldogs.

You can learn more about each of the top ranked teams, check out how well the preseason rankings predict end-of-season champions, and read both top 25 lists at the USTFCCCA website.
