The Charlotte Bobcats recently tweeted a photo of their new Hornets gear.  The Bobcats will change their name to the Hornets to begin the 2014-2015 season.

The new gear looks great!

I wonder how the marketing campaign will work over the coming months.  Does Charlotte want to continue selling its Bobcats gear or are they already selling Hornets gear?

Charlotte is currently eighth in the Eastern Conference standings at 16-23.  If the Bobcats want to make it to the playoffs, they will need to fend off the Brooklyn Nets and the New York Knicks.

Both teams from New York are starting to get their respective seasons back on track. The Nets and the Knicks are 6-4 over their last 10 games.

The leadership of point guard Kemba Walker and center Al Jefferson will be crucial down the stretch for the Bobcats.  Kemba Walker is averaging 18.8 points, 4.8 assists, and 4.3 rebounds per game, and Al Jefferson is averaging 17.4 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per contest.  Together, the two players are a formidable guard-center combination that will help the Cats make a run at the playoffs.

Do you think the Bobcats will make it to the playoffs?
