The Dallas Mavericks will have veteran forward Shawn Marion back in the lineup when they take on the Los Angeles Clippers Wednesday night.
Marion was injured during the Mavericks’ 110-97 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers last week when he was tangled up with Lakers’ big man Pau Gasol and went down to the ground.
Marion was diagnosed with a bruised right shoulder and bruised ribs, but after going through a complete practice Tuesday, Marion feels he is ready to play despite telling he reporters he still feels stiffness and soreness.
“I think it’s something I can tolerate now,” Marion said via Tim MacMahon of ESPN Dallas. “I’m good to go. I plan on playing. I’m ready to go, man. I can’t sit out too much longer. It’s tolerable, so I’m going to give it a go and help my team on this road trip.”
Marion is averaging 11.3 points, 7.2 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.3 steals per game this season.
The Mavericks and Clippers will tip off from the Staples Center at 10:30 pm EST.
