Penn State Nittany Lions football players met with new head coach Jame Franklin for the first time on Sunday, and the first impressions were positive.

Here’s linebacker Mike Hull:

My first impression of him was he seems like he really knows what he’s doing. He seems like a great leader and he gave everyone a role and it seems like everything is going to be running smoothly this spring (Penn Live).

And cornerback Jordan Lucas:

First impressions mean a lot and he seemed pretty genuine. First thing of course he introduced himself and he just spoke about what an honor it is to be a coach here at Penn State and to coach us. We listened to him and the message he gave is that we’re going to outwork everyone, and we’re on board with him. It doesn’t take that long. We see his vision and we’re going to work very hard to make that happen.
