Miami Heat star LeBron James put up 36 points, 5 assists and 7 rebounds in his last outing on the court, but that didn’t stop reporters from asking about the possibility that he and his teammates could be coasting.

The questions obviously didn’t sit well with James, who responded by promising a big game against the Washington Wizards on Wednesday night.

“You’ll see the numbers I put up Wednesday,” James said, via ESPN. “Just watch.”

Well, that certainly got our attention.

This season, LeBron has raised his field goal percentage to 59.1 percent, while his true shooting percentage stands at an incredible 67.2 percent. It is the seventh straight year that James has improved his shooting percentage, but the media still decided to ask if he was taking it easy this season.

While it is unfair to James, it also shows the level that everyone expects him to play at. That says all you need to know about James as a player.

Perhaps by putting on an incredible performance on Wednesday night, some of the critics can be silenced. Perhaps it is just time for us to get our popcorn ready.
