Lindsey Vonn undergoes knee surgery

Last week, United States skier Lindsey Vonn announced that she would be missing the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. Vonn has been dealing with numerous setbacks with her knee after multiple injuries to her ACL, and now she has undergone surgery to repair the issues.

Vonn underwent the surgery on Tuesday and she is hoping that she will be able to return to the slopes in time for the February 2015 World Championships in Vail and Beaver Creek, Colorado.

Vonn shared the following on her Facebook account:

While the Olympics won’t be the same without Vonn hitting the slopes, we hope that she can have a full and speedy recovery and one day return to the sport.
