The Chicago Bulls are in the midst of a re-tooling project and hope to have available money come this offseason so they can sign a prized free agent or two.
One such name who is on their radar is Lance Stephenson of fellow Central Division foe, the Indiana Pacers.
Per the Chicago Sun Times:
If they fail to land a star of the magnitude of Anthony or James, there is a consolation prize. The Bulls would love to nab Lance Stephenson from the Indiana Pacers, move Jimmy Butler to the three and add highly touted Nikola Mirotic after using the amnesty clause on Carlos Boozer.
Stephenson will be a free agent and is set to cash in come this Summer. Of course, the Pacers will be able to offer Stephenson the most money/years in a potential deal, but with $64 million dollars already committed for the 2014-15 season, it’s not known if Indiana will be able to afford the talented swingman.
