I’d venture to guess that prior to the postseason, the New England Patriots weren’t exactly moving LeGarrette Blount jerseys. If anything, fans likely were buying them just to have ‘blount’ on the back of an NFL jersey.

But the sales were likely few and far between.

No more – not after Blount’s impressive four touchdown performance against the Indianapolis Colts.

Of course, this isn’t anything we haven’t seen before.

On a nearly year basis, there seemingly is one player who emerges from no place to become a postseason star. A few years ago it was Darren Sproles, then a member of the San Diego Chargers. Now it’s Blount, who has eight touchdown’s in his last three games.

Per TMZ Sports:

"The Patriots were BLINDSIDED by LeGarrette Blount‘s sudden rise to superstardom — at least the official team shop was, ’cause they’re all SOLD OUT of his jerseys … and now the team is scrambling to crank out #29s before the next playoff game."

Not only were the Patriots not likely selling Blount jerseys very often – there simply weren’t many made, so there’s been an understandable mad rush to get them printed up soon as possible.
