NFL Draft Rumors: Several NFL teams don’t view Teddy Bridgewater as first-round pick

A month ago, before all the bowl mania started, if you looked around for mock drafts it seemed that the consensus was Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater was the No. 1 pick. A month later and not only is Bridgewater hardly in the discussion for the top pick anymore, but teams are apparently starting to sour on him as a first-round pick altogether.

This doesn’t mean that every team is dropping Bridgewater on their board, as these teams not interested in giving Bridgewater first-round consideration may just be teams that don’t have a quarterback high on their list of needs. If you ask the New England Patriots if they will use a first-round pick on Bridgewater, you know what the answer will be.

Of course, that’s assuming teams are grading based on need and not on overall value. Either way, it appears Bridgewater is falling out of favor with scouts, but April is still a long ways away and a lot can happen between now and then to change his draft status.

It’s great speculation for all the writers, but the bottom line is that Bridgewater WILL get drafted and has the potential to be a franchise quarterback. Based upon everything I’ve read about him, while he would probably love to the overall #1 pick or a first round pick, he just wants to play pro ball and will work his tail off to be successful.
