The Minnesota Wild are struggling through this NHL season and are desperately trying to avoid another season that ends without a deep run in the Stanley Cup playoffs. One of the main reasons for the struggles this season has been the injury to star forward Zach Parise, who remains on IR with a foot injury.
Parise practiced with the Wild on Wednesday in a non-contact jersey and admitted to Wild beat writer Michael Russo that he still didn’t feel right skating.
“A couple times I found myself off balance, sometimes favoring the other foot,” Parise said. “But after a while when I got comfortable using it, it felt pretty good. Quick starts, it felt much better than it did a month ago, so that’s a good sign.”
While it’s good news for Wild fans that Parise is trying to skate, he still appears to be nowhere near ready to return to the lineup. Parise will be missing his 12th straight game when the Wild take on the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday andNHL Rumors: Zach Parise practice with Minnesota Wild in addition to being out for the Wild, his status for the U.S. Hockey team in Sochi is up in the air as well.
The Wild are currently 25-19 and holding onto the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
