The NHL trade deadline is just around the corner and as a result, trade rumors are starting to be churned out left and right. Besides the two trades made on Wednesday, two reports floating round seem to suggest that a third trade may be going down sometime soon.
Injured Carolina Hurricanes netminder Cam Ward, who remains on IR at the moment, has found himself in the rumor mill as of Wednesday.
Hearing Cam Ward is in play. Oilers have inquired about him, but is a deal close? Stay tuned

Cam Ward trade is possible, but Carolina requires great return to consider in-season. He should return to action next week.

Ward is the third netminder to have been mentioned in trade talks on Wednesday with Oilers goalie Devan Dubnyk and Kings goalie Ben Scrivens changing teams. The likelihood of Ward being traded remains on the lower end, but someone may meet the Hurricanes’ price.
An interesting angle to this is that the Oilers apparently inquired about Ward. It’s tough to say whether this inquiry happened before or after they acquired Ben Scrivens from the Kings, but after the trades Edmonton made on Wednesday it’s hard to see them making a move to add a third starting goalie to the roster.
