PGA Tour: Ideal scoring conditions at the Humana Challenge

The Humana Challenge in partnership with the Clinton Foundation begins tomorrow in La Quinta, California.  The tournament will be held on three different courses with a 54-hole cut.

Check out the link in the tweet below for a preview of the Humana Challenge.

Multiple players are saying they need to stay patient because they expect to make a ton of birdies in the ideal conditions.

Last year, Brian Gay defeated Charles Howell III and David Lingmerth in a playoff to win his fourth Tour event of his career.  To get into the playoff, Gay shot a final round 63, Howell III shot a 64, and Lingmerth shot a 62.

The Humana Challenge is the ultimate shoot-out style tournament on the PGA Tour.  Players must shoot in the mid-60s to have a chance, and usually need a round in the low-60s to get to the top of the leaderboard.

Zach Johnson is my favorite to win this week.  He ended 2013 with a couple wins, and already has a win and a top-ten to start 2014.

Rickie Fowler kicks off 2014 in the desert, so look for him on the leaderboard as well.
