Arbitration: Bud Norris reaches deal with Orioles

It was reported earlier in the day that Bud Norris and the Baltimore Orioles had avoided arbitration, but that the exact financial terms were unknown. Thanks to Dan Connelly of the Baltimore Sun, we now know those terms.

Bud Norris avoided arbitration earlier with the Baltimore Orioles to the tune of a one-year deal worth $5.3 million. He earned an even $3 million in 2013.

Norris had been considered the ace of the Houston Astros, but in the middle of a series that pitted Baltimore against Houston, Houston traded the righty to its opponents at the time in return for John Hader, L.J. Hoes, and a competitve draft pick.

For the whole of 2013, Norris pitched to a 10-12 record and a 4.18 ERA over 30 starts and a career high 176.2 IP. He will be a free agent after the 2016 season.
