Arbitration: Tim Collins, Royals reach a deal

Kansas City Royals’ set up man Tim Collins has a new contract in place.

Joel Sherman (@JoelSherman1) reports that the Royals will avoid arbitration with Collins to the tune of a one-year contract worth $1.3625 million. In 2013, the diminutive (5’7″) lefty made $534,500.

Collins fell off slightly last season, posting a 3-6 record with a 3.54 ERA, but still figures to be a prominent and powerful figure in the Kansas City bullpen.
