Troy Renck of the Denver Post (@TroyRenck) reports that the Colorado Rockies and reliever Wilton Lopez have avoided arbitration.
The deal struck with Lopez is a one-year, $2.2 million. Renck says that Colorado is counting on a bounceback season for the 30-year old right hander. After four years in Houston, the Astros traded him to the Rockies before 2013.
In Colorado, Lopez pitched a career high 75.1 IP with a 3-4 record. The most telling stat for Lopez is the 4.06 ERA, which came after three sub-3.00 ERA seasons. He also gave up a career worst 88 hits and 34 earned runs.
