The San Diego Chargers have been without wide receiver Malcolm Floyd since he was placed on the season-ending injured reserve list back in Week 2. While Floyd is hoping to eventually return and rid himself of the pain that has been holding him back, he could be nearing the end of the road.

“I definitely want to play again,” Floyd said, via the Union-Tribune San Diego. “I definitely do. I’m getting better steadily, and if my body allows me to play, I’m going to do it.”

The report states that Floyd has yet to be cleared to resume football activities and he is getting prepared to meet with a doctor next month where he will be learning about what the future will hold.

If the meeting doesn’t go well, then Floyd’s career could be over.
