Felice Herrig is one of the contestants for the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter, which will be the first time in the show’s long history that the cast will be made up exclusively of female mixed martial artists and Herrig recently shared how she learned the news.
The news of the UFC adding a strawweight division and signing a number of fighters from Invicta FC came shortly after Herrig’s loss to Tecia Torres at Invicta FC 7.
Herrig said that she was receiving phone calls from a number that she didn’t know multiple times and a text message that asked her when the best time would be to talk, so she looked into where the number was from.
After Herrig eventually answered the phone, she realized it was UFC president Dana White giving her the call to bring her on board.
Filming for the show starts on May 18, and Herrig has to be glad that she finally answered the call that will provide her with the biggest opportunity of her career.
