Maryland hiring Keenan McCardell as wide receivers coach

Former 17 year veteran wide receiver Keenan McCardell, who played for the Cleveland BrownsJacksonville Jaguars, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (where he was a member of the team that won the Super Bowl), San Diego Chargers,  and Washington Redskins.  is going to Maryland to be their wide receivers coach.  McCardell coached wide receivers at the East-West Shrine Game before being hired by the Washington Redskins where he spent two seasons, three years after he finished his playing career.

McCardell will work under head coach Randy Edsall as they make the move to the Big Ten.  This will be his first trip to the collegiate ranks in a full time capacity since he played at UNLV in 1991.  McCardell knows the technical aspects of the game, which is how he was able to catch 883 passes for 11,373 yards through his career, most notably with the Jaguars.
