The Minnesota Vikings took their time in hiring their head coach, but after naming Mike Zimmer to the position, the team is moving quickly to fill out his staff. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Vikings and in-limbo Cleveland Browns offensive coordinator Norv Turner are close to a deal that will make the former San Diego Chargers head coach Mike Zimmer’s new offensive coordinator in Minnesota.

A deal hasn’t yet been agreed upon, but it was looking like one is going to be soon. Turner was also on the Baltimore Ravens radar early on in their process of finding a replacement for Jim Caldwell, but news that they interviewed Kyle Shanahan seems to suggest that they know Turner will be heading to Minnesota.

The Vikings offense has been pretty atrocious as of late and Turner was able to make the Cleveland Browns look respectable with Brian Hoyer under center, even beating the Vikings early on in the season.

That’s what the Vikings need as they’ll likely be drafting a new franchise quarterback in the first-round of this year’s draft, meaning Turner will come in and be responsible for crafting the team’s future right off the bat.
