The Sacramento Kings announced Thursday that they would become the first professional sports organization to accent the virtual currency BitCoin, but that wasn’t the only news of the day for the streaking Kings.

In addition to accepting BitCoin to purchase game tickets and merchandise, the Kings announced they will be wearing Google Glasses against the Indiana Pacers on January 24th.

Per owner Vivek Ranadive:

Testing complete! Kings ready to Go Glass on 1/24 vs the Pacers. See the game from an entirely new perspective.

When Ranadive and the rest of the ownership purchased the Kings last season, they said they wanted to make the Kings the most technology driven franchise in professional sports and they seem to be on their way to doing just that.

Ranadive didn’t elaborate as to how the Kings would use the Google Glass initially, though judging by the below preview, it’s likely they’ll wear them during warmups and introductions.

Should be really interesting if/when they can be worn in-game.

The Kings are also going to be having assistant coaches wear the glasses during games for analytical purpose.
