Norv Turner is set to join the Minnesota Vikings as offensive coordinator, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Turner has just finished his first season as offensive coordinator for the Cleveland Browns, but with the firing of Rob Chudzinski after his only season in charge the former San Diego Chargers head coach has been able to look for a new position. Turner will join the coaching staff of Mike Zimmer, the former Cincinnati Bengals defensive coordinator who was recently appointed as head coach of the Vikings.

While the Vikings  need  a solution to their quarterback situation, the appointment of Turner, a well respected offensive mind and developer of quarterbacks will make the most out of the talent on the Vikings offensive roster, including Greg Jennings, Cordarrelle Patterson and Adrian Peterson, though it seems unlikely that Christian Ponder or Matt Cassel would fit Turner’s system.
