As the NFC Championship game approaches, the San Francisco 49ers are getting closer and closer to full strength.
On Thursday, outside linebacker Ahmad Brooks, who has been struggling with a “severe cold,” returned to practice.
49ers’ cornerback Carlos Rogers has not practiced since week 17 and has not played in either of the 49ers’ playoff games so far.
However, Rogers practiced for the second consecutive day on Thursday and is in line to play in Sunday’s NFC Championship game against the Seattle Seahawks.
“He looked fine (Wednesday),” 49ers defensive coordinator Vic Fangio on Thursday said about Rogers’ first time practicing since he got hurt in the regular-season finale Dec. 29 via Steve Corkran of The San Jose Mercury News. “He took part in about half of it, opened up a few times, looked good running. Then we shut him down at that point and hopefully he’ll be able to do a whole lot more” Thursday and Friday.
Rogers recorded 47 tackles and two interceptions for the 49ers this season.
The 49ers and Seahawks will kick off at 6:30 pm EST Sunday and the game is on Fox.
