Showtime Unveils Its Spring 2014 Schedule

As the seasons progress, the networks get closer and closer to unveiling their lineups for next season. Earlier today, Showtime did just that as they unveiled their Spring 2014 Lineup.

The Spring Lineup will start off on Sunday, April 13th with the premiere of their hit original series Nurse Jackie.

Starring Sopranos actress Edie Falco in the title role, Nurse Jackie follows the life of a drug-addicted nurse by the name of Jackie Peyton. Between her job at a New York City hospital, and the array of personal dramas she continues to find herself in, she finds it incredibly difficult to live a normal, balanced life.

Nurse Jackie also stars Merritt Wever, Paul Schulze, Dominic Fumusa, The Twilight Saga’s Peter Facinelli and more.

Next up is the premiere of the Seventh, and final, season of Showtime’s hit original series Californication.

In Californication, David Duchovny stars as a hedonistic writer named Hank who attempts, and not always so successfully, to balance his career, his relationship with his daughter and ex-girlfriend, and his insatiable appetite for beautiful young women.

Then, Showtime will unveil the premiere of the non-fiction series Years of Living Dangerously.

This non-fiction, documentary series focuses on the American and international impact of, and solutions to, climate change. The show is expected to consists of 8 episodes; in each of which have a celebrity correspondent will interview experts and normal people on the matter. Some of those correspondents are said to be Harrison Ford, Matt Damon, Jessica Alba, Don Cheadle, America Ferrera, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Lesley Stahl, Mark Bittman, Ian Somerhalder, Olivia Munn and Michael C. Hall.

Last, but not least, we have the unveiling of Showtime’s newest series Penny Dreadful.

Here is the synopsis of the new series according to Showtime.

“Some of literature’s most terrifying characters, including Dr. Frankenstein, Dorian Gray, and iconic figures from the novel Dracula are lurking in the darkest corners of Victorian London. PENNY DREADFUL is a frightening psychological thriller that weaves together these classic horror origin stories into a new adult drama.”
