The Alabama Crimson Tide have set the date and time for the annual A-Day spring game for 2014, and they’ll be doing a little bit of honoring in this one.
A-Day has been set for April 19 and the scrimmage will begin at 2 PM ET. It’s become one of the premier events in Tuscaloosa since Nick Saban took over, continually drawing larger crowds than some NFL regular season games. Last year’s scrimmage drew a crowd of 78,315.
In addition to being able to see what this Tide team will be made of for 2014, the school also announced that departing players QB AJ McCarron, LB C.J. Mosley and WR Kevin Norwood will be honored at Denny Chimes prior to the game kicking off.
The three were instrumental pieces in Alabama’s latest run of success, which includes two national championships, and another BCS bowl appearance a few weeks ago.
With the three leaving, it’ll be interesting to see what the attendance numbers are for this year’s game. There are a lot of questions to be answered for 2014 for Saban and his crew, so the attention this game receives should be more than normal.
