Arbitration: Peter Bourjos reaches deal with Cardinals

Recently acquired center fielder Peter Bourjos will not be headed to arbitration with the Cardinals.

Joel Sherman reports that the speedy outfielder will receive $1.2 million from St. Louis with $150,000 in incentives based on plate appearances.

Bourjos made $500,000 in 2013 with the Los Angeles Angels, a season in which he played in only 55 games due to two ‘freak accident’ injuries. He was traded to the Cards from LA in the deal that sent David Freese to the Angels. Bourjos will likely form a platoon with Jon Jay in center field.
